Welcome to New Mt. Gillian Missionary Baptist Church where our mission is to serve our neighbors with compassion and integrity, fueled by our relationship with God. We demonstrate our faith through active community engagement and by equipping believers to grow in Jesus Christ through the power of His Word.

Our Mission
New Mt. Gillian Missionary Baptist Church exists to glorify God through a faithful vertical relationship with Him and a compassionate horizontal commitment to our neighbors. In obedience to the commands to "love the Lord thy God" and to "love thy neighbour as thyself", we serve as the hands, feet, and voice of Jesus Christ in our community. Guided by James 2:17 "Faith, without work is dead", we put our faith into action by meeting both spiritual and practical needs with dignity, consistency, and love. Through food access initiatives, youth and senior support, health-awareness outreach, and seasonal community programs, we steward our ministry and our physical facilities to ensure they remain safe, accessible, and available for service. As a church with roots dating back to 1869 and located at our current site since 1983, our mission reflects a long-standing commitment to faith, service, community, and responsible care of the resources entrusted to us for the benefit of the broader community.

Since establishing our current home in 1983, we have continued to serve as a stable place of worship, refuge, and community support for generations. Over the next three years, New Mt. Gillian envisions strengthening its role as a safe, welcoming, and sustainable community anchor by expanding outreach that addresses hunger, youth development, senior care, health awareness, and seasonal community needs. Grounded in faithful stewardship—“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2, KJV)—our vision is to serve as a center of hope, service, and transformation for generations to come.
